Sinopsis

A group of whale hunters in north Siberia, follows a millenary tradition. Their archaic techniques, their habilities, and their own survival are displayed here in all of their rawness and strikingness. Winner at the Mexico City's Contemporary Cinema International Festival, this film is the last in a series of three documentaries directed by Carlos Casas, in which live in some of the most inhospitable places around the world are explored.

Carlos Casas

Barcelona, 1974. He is a filmmaker and a visual artist. His work is a mix between documentary cinema, fim, contemporary visual arts and sound. His las three movies haves been presented at festivals such as Torino, Madrid, Buenos Aires, and Mexico City. Some of his visual art has been showed at colective installations as well as personal installations. In 2001 he started a trilogy of work dedicated to the most extreme environments on the planet, Patagonia, Aral sea, and Siberia. In 2009 he began his ongoing project Avalanche about one of the worlds highest inhabitated villages. He is currently working on a film about a cemetery of elephants on the borders between India and Nepal.
