"A family of hungarian gypsies settled in a house complex in Toronto waits fot the response about being refugees en Canada. At the same time, some movie makers invite them to write the scrip for a movie confines to how the immigrants check the details of such script that is centered around the history of a child named Alex. One day, when he wakes up, he realizes that he has a beak instead of a mouth and that his body is covered in feathers. Facing this metamorphosis. the reactions of his familie are different so the making of the movie presumes how to portray the consecuences of the inexplicable happening. Going deep in the topic of representation and self-representarion and a narration crossed by the descition making of the translations and subtiltes, which are key to the story, Tales of Two Who Dreamt compiles various tales that inhabit in a house complex in Toronto: a huge snake scaped and was never found, a child turned into a bird, a woman went crazy after her child fell from a balcony, an abandoned dog in an apartment, a fire destroyed a whole floor in the building. Andrea Bussmann

Toronto, 1980. Director, Writer and Cinematographer. She studied social anthropology in her native city, Torontom where she also obtained a masters degree in cinematographic production in 2009. In 2011 she debuted as a director with her short film ""Aquel cuyo rostro no irradia luz."" Years later, she directed her first feature filmfilmfilm ""Historia de dos qye soñaron"" alongside Nicolás Pereda, which was premiered at BERLINALE 2016. In 2018, Bussman, released her documentary film 'Fausto'.

Nicolás Pereda

Mexico City, 1982. Pereda did his masters degree in film directing at York University. He has filmed six feature films and one short hilm that have awarded him many prized at different festivals worldwide. He has made several films and vidios for interdisciplinary montages, operas and dance pieces that have been presented in Mexico, Asia and Europe. Gabino Rodríguez and Teresa Sánchez are his main stars, but he has considered working with other actors an to hire Gabino as his asistant. He lives between Canada and Mexico, and is married to Andrea Bussmann. They have two children. Pereda's films have been shown at many film festivals, such as: Cannes, Venecia, Rotterdam, FIDMarseille, Viena y Edinburgo, and has won several prizes at their competitions. His first film retrospecctivos took place at Cine de las Américas in Austin, Texas, in 2010. This one was followed by others: in Jeonju, Anthology Film Archives, Paris Cinema, Cartagena IFF, UCLA, Valdivia FF and Harvard Film Archive, among many others in Madris, Seattle, San Francisco, Belo Horizonte and the TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto.

Resalta el trabajo realizado alrededor del lenguaje, pues hay una plasticidad intrínseca en la fonética del idioma lejano puesta en juego. Los directores toman la voz del jefe de la familia para explicarnos la propuesta y crean un desfase entre diálogos y subtítulos; en un par de momentos es claro que se nos niega la posibilidad de leer lo que escuchamos, y en algún otro se suprime por completo el texto, ocultando información lingüística que, empero, contribuye a que entendamos mejor».
